The characteristics of classes at MERIC are as follows Homeroom teacher A homeroom teacher and two or three other instructors give lessons in each class. Classes are taught according to the level of the students' language skills. Teachers consult with students and give advice about their study and life in Japan. We support your life in Japan.

Elective subjects according to the students' interests (Only January-March in advances classes) 'I want to enjoy watching Japanese TV programs.', 'I am interested in reading novels in Japanese.' etc... The more advanced your level gets, the wider your interest in Japanese becomes. Electives subjects can satisfy you with such an expectation. You can choose some subjects and take lessons. Classes such as the essay writing course for entrance exams and basic skills up course are available, too.

Courses for EJU and entrance exams at Universities Period: April-mid-February (study for EJU finishes in November) - 100 minutes for each subject after class Subjects : Japanese/ Japan and the World/ Science/ Mathematics/ TOEFL- *Open for non-MERIC students as well

Class for Japanese Language Proficiency Test (available only for Advanced level) Class for JLPT: October-December(Until the examination day)- Working on possibly asked exam questions. Extra classes: After school during the class for JLPT(6 lessons in total)- Working on exam questions used in previous years.
